“Personal Space”

Rose Thome Casterline is an artist/educator from Orlando and has been exhibiting her drawings, prints and paintings over the past twenty years.   Her work has been featured in several publications including New American Paintings (Vols. 34 and 52), House Beautiful and Coastal Living

The representational and narrative nature of her work is not the result of a traditional, classical working method – the model and studio. To capture what the essence and physicality of her archetypal characters, she relies on both visual and haptic cues. She attempts to recognize the funny, absurd and familiar – all this is the foundation of imagery from memory, snapshots, stiil life objects and the occassional model.
